Taxonomy
Potamotrygon ucayalensis was named by Adnet et al. (2014). Its type specimen is MUSM 2263, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CTA-27, which is in a Priabonian/Rupelian terrestrial claystone in the Pozo Formation of Peru.
