Taxonomy
Ellipsoidastraea hemisphaerica was named by Brede et al. (1989). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Errachidia, near Oued Almou, which is in a Bajocian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in Morocco.
