Montezumaspis cometes
Taxonomy
Esmeraldina cometes was named by Fritz (1995). Its type specimen is USNM 479804, a cephalon/head, and it is a mold. Its type locality is UNSM "Green" Locality 1f, which is in a Montezuman marine siltstone in the Campito Formation of Nevada.
It was recombined as Palmettaspis cometes by Lieberman (1999); it was recombined as Montezumaspis cometes by Hollingsworth (2006).
