Taxonomy
Thyasira xylodia was named by Kiel and Goedert (2007). Its type specimen is LACMIP 13370 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Murdock Creek, which is in a Rupelian deep-water siltstone in the Pysht Formation of Washington.
