Exanthesis was named by Regnard (1926) [Sepkoski's age data: K Apti K u Sepkoski's reference number: 622]. It is not extant. Its type is Plocoscyphia reticulata.

It was assigned to Lychniscosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Dactylocalycinae by Finks et al. (2004).

Synonyms
  • Periphora was named by egnard (1926). It is not extant.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Exanthesis by Reid (2004).
