Phygraea stewarti

Taxonomy
Ostrea stewarti was named by Hanna (1927) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; Eastern Pacific.]. Its type specimen is UCMP 30921–22, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCR loc. 4922, which is in a Lutetian deep subtidal shelf shale in the Ardath Formation of California.

It was recombined as Pycnodonte (Crenostrea) stewarti by Moore (1987); it was recombined as Phygraea stewarti by Squires (2018) and Hendy (2020).
