Viridomys was named by Fox (1971). It is not extant. Its type is Viridomys orbatus.
It was assigned to Multituberculata by Fox (1971), Clemens and Kielan-Jaworowska (1979) and McKenna and Bell (1997); and to Cimolodonta by Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004).
