Taxonomy
Atrina multicostata was named by Friesenbichler et al. (2019). It is not extant. Its type specimen is LPB IIIL 2005 (left valve). Its type locality is Mahmudia Quarry, Caeracul Mare Hill, sample 114, which is in a Bithynian reef, buildup or bioherm bindstone in the Caerace Formation of Romania.
