Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
Z. Kielan-Jaworowska et al. 2004(based on Hahn and Hahn, 1983, emended). Most primitive member of the neoplagiaulacidea, with p3 present. Differs from the Tertiary representatives of the family in having a p4 lower crowned. In P4 the posterior cusps of the medial row are the highest, but the shearing specializations of this tooth are less developed than in later genera (e.g. Ectypodus). The p4 has 9-15 serrations; length varies between 2.7 and 4.7 mm.
