Parectypodus
Taxonomy
Parectypodus was named by Jepsen (1930) [also erroneously attributed to Matthew and Granger 1921]. It is not extant. Its type is Parectypodus simpsoni.
It was synonymized subjectively with Ectypodus by Jepsen (1940).
It was assigned to Ectypodidae by Sloan and Van Valen (1965); to Ptilodontidae by Jepsen (1930), Sloan (1966), Sloan (1981) and McKenna and Bell (1997); and to Neoplagiaulacidae by Kielan-Jaworowska and Hurum (2001), Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004) and Scott et al. (2013).
It was synonymized subjectively with Ectypodus by Jepsen (1940).
