Neoliotomus was named by Jepsen (1930). It is not extant. Its type is Neoliotomus conventus.
It was assigned to Eucosmodontidae by Jepsen (1930) and McKenna and Bell (1997); and to Ptilodontoidea by Kielan-Jaworowska and Hurum (2001).
