Manchurodon was named by Yabe and Shikama (1938).
It was assigned to Amphidontoidea by Prothero (1981); to Symmetrodonta by Averianov (2002); and to Amphidontidae by Yabe and Shikama (1938), Patterson (1956), Cassiliano and Clemens (1979), McKenna and Bell (1997) and Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004).
