Taxonomy
Nanodelphys was named by McGrew (1937). Its type is Nanodelphys minutus.

It was synonymized subjectively with Peradectes by Crochet (1978), Bown (1979), Crochet (1980) and Krishtalka and Stucky (1983).

It was assigned to Peradectinae by Korth (1994); and to Didelphidae by McGrew (1937), Marshall (1981), Russell (1984), Ostrander (1987) and McKenna and Bell (1997).
