It was synonymized subjectively with Peradectes by Matthew and Granger (1939), Archibald (1982) and Van Valen (1988); it was considered a nomen dubium by Clemens (2006).
It was assigned to Peradectidae by Johanson (1996); to Didelphidae by Matthew and Granger (1921), Krishtalka and Stucky (1983), Archibald et al. (1987), Williamson and Lucas (1993), Williamson (1996) and McKenna and Bell (1997); and to Herpetotheriidae by Williamson et al. (2012).
