It was assigned to Didelphidae by Clemens (1979) and Pascual (1983); to Didelphoidea by McKenna and Bell (1997); to Paucituberculata by Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004); to Pediomyoidea by Davis (2007) and Beck et al. (2008); to Hatcheriformes by Goin et al. (2010); and to Polydolopimorphia by Goin et al. (2023).
