Taxonomy
Zygomaturus was named by Owen (1858). It is not extant. It is the type genus of Zygomaturinae.

It was assigned to Diprotodontidae by Marshall (1974) and McKenna and Bell (1997); and to Zygomaturinae by Black et al. (2013).
