Taxonomy
Cantharus perrini was named by Dickerson (1915). Its type specimen is CAS 315 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS loc. 183, Big Bend of Cowlitz River, which is in a Bartonian marine mudstone/sandstone in the Cowlitz Formation of Washington.
