Trophon squamulifera was named by Carpenter in Gabb (1869). It is extant.

It was recombined as Tritonalia squamulifera by Jordan (1926); it was recombined as Ocenebra squamulifera by Wright (1972); it was recombined as Ocinebrina squamulifera by Hendy (2021).
