Chadronia was named by Cook (1954). It is not extant. Its type is Chadronia margaretae.

It was assigned to Mesonychidae by Cook (1954); to Pantolestidae by Van Valen (1967) and McKenna and Bell (1997); and to Pantolestinae by Lopatin (2006).
