Taxonomy
Crassispirifer acuta was named by Waterhouse (2004). It is not extant. Its type specimen is UQF 74182. Its type locality is UQ L4581, quarry along highway north of Theodore, Bowen Basin, which is in a Wuchiapingian coastal siliciclastic in the Flat Top Formation of Australia.
