Taxonomy
Alsaticopithecus was named by Hürzeler (1947). Its type is Alsaticopithecus leemanni.

It was synonymized subjectively with Amphilemur by Hooker (1986).

It was assigned to Microsyopidae by Simons (1965) and Van Valen (1967); and to Amphilemuridae by Novacek et al. (1985) and Carroll (1988).
