Taxonomy
Tipula anglicana was named by Krzemiński (2019). Its type specimen is NHMUK In.64117, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Bembridge Marls (Hooley coll), which is in a Priabonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Bouldnor Formation of the United Kingdom.
