Wallia was named by Storer (1984). It is not extant. Its type is Wallia scalopidens.

It was assigned to Chiroptera by Legendre (1985); to Proscalopidae by Storer (1984) and Storer (1996); and to Molossidae by Czaplewski et al. (2008).

Czaplewski et al. 2008Upper molars strongly dilambdodont; preprotocrista extends as a paracingulum to parastyle; M1 and M2 with indistinct para- and metaconule and with large, low, cuspate hypocone not fused to posterolingual wall of postprotocrista; M1 and M2 with lingual cingulum at anterior base of protocone; M3 lacks hypocone, postprotocrista, and postmetacrista.
