Thaumaptilon walcotti
Taxonomy
Thaumaptilon walcotti was named by Conway Morris (1993). Its type specimen is USNM 468028 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Walcott Quarry, Fossil Ridge, Greater Phyllopod Bed, which is in a Delamaran deep-water shale in the Burgess Shale Formation of Canada. It is the type species of Thaumoptilon.
