Arctisorex was named by Hutchison and Harington (2002). It is not extant. Its type is Arctisorex polaris.

It was assigned to Soricidae by Hutchison and Harington (2002) and Hutchison and Harington (2002); and to Nectogalini by Gunnell et al. (2008).
