Taxonomy
Micromomyidae was named by Szalay (1974). It is not extant. Its type is Micromomyinae. It was considered monophyletic by Beard (1991) and Beard (1993).

It was assigned to Dermoptera by Beard (1991); to Paromomyiformes by Beard (1993); to Paromomyoidea by McKenna and Bell (1997); to Plesiadapiformes by Hooker et al. (1999); and to Primates by Bloch et al. (2007) and Silcox et al. (2010).
