Taxonomy

Uintanius was named by Matthew (1915). It is not extant. Its type is Uintanius ameghini.

It was assigned to Anaptomorphinae by Simpson (1940); to Omomyidae by Matthew (1915) and McKenna and Bell (1997); and to Uintaniini by Szalay (1976), Muldoon and Gunnell (2002), Gunnell and Rose (2002) and Hooker (2007).

Synonyms

Huerfanius was named by Robinson (1966). Its type is Huerfanius rutherfurdi.

It was synonymized subjectively with Uintanius by Szalay (1976), Gingerich (1981), Szalaly (1982), Beard (1987) and Beard et al. (1992).

It was assigned to Omomyidae by Robinson (1966) and McKenna and Bell (1997).
