Taxonomy
Proetus (Crassiproetus) traversensis was named by Stumm (1953) [= Proetus crassimarginatus (Hall). Howell, 1951: 271, pl. 5, fig. 3. = Proetus (Crassiproetus) sp. A. Stumm, 1 953a: 114, pl. 1, fig. 16. = Proetus crassimarginatus (Hall). Stumm, 1964: 3, pl. 1, figs. 7-12.]. It is the type species of Proetus (Crassiproetus).

It was recombined as Crassiproetus traversensis by Lieberman (1994).
