Taxonomy
Dipsalodon was named by Jepsen (1930). It is not extant. Its type is Dipsalodon matthewi.

It was assigned to Palaeonictinae by Van Valen (1967); and to Oxyaenidae by Jepsen (1930) and Gunnell (1998).
