It was assigned to Caniformia by Flynn and Galiano (1982); to Miacinae by Hooker (1986); to Miacidae by Matthew (1909), Flynn (1998) and Friscia and Rasmussen (2010); and to Carnivoraformes by Solé et al. (2016).
