Taxonomy
Pterispermostrobus bifurcatus was named by Stopes (1914). It is not extant. Its type locality is Carboniferous Flora of St. John, New Brunswick, which is in a Mississippian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal shale in Canada. It is the type species of Pterispermostrobus.
