Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
X.-X. Ren et al. 2021A mamenchisaurid eusauropod possessing the following unique combination of character states (autapomorphies are marked by *): caudal transverse processes persisting until the 10th caudal*
(Chuanjiesaurus anaensis: 15th); weakly developed posterior condylar ball in anterior caudals (Chuanjiesaurus anaensis: well developed); bifid chevrons in middle caudal series; length of ulnar proximal condylar processes sub-equal (Chuanjiesaurus anaensis: unequal); angle between the ulnar anterolateral and anteromedial processes about 45 degrees* (Chuanjiesaurus anaensis: 60 degrees); proximal width of metacarpal II is 7% the length of radius (lowest value among mamenchisaurids)*; distal width approximately 40% of the total length of the pubis (greatest value among mamenchisaurids)*.
