Taxonomy
Aphelaspis constricta was named by Palmer (1954). Its type specimen is USNM 123340, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Coll. 8-CO, which is in a Paibian marine limestone in the Riley Formation of Texas.
