Yoderimys was named by Wood (1955). It is not extant. Its type is Yoderimys bumpi.

It was assigned to Eomyidae by McKenna and Bell (1997); and to Yoderimyinae by Wood (1955) and Korth et al. (2022).

A. E. Wood 1955Cheek tooth formula P', M, the anterior upper premolar being peg- like; upper cheek teeth basically bipartite, with a union between protoloph and metaloph near center of teeth; strong buccal crest uniting protocone and metacone, and giving off a crest toward mesoloph; mesoloph weak; lower cheek teeth cuspate, with beginnings of development of crests; strong anteroconids on all teeth; ectolophid prominent and straight; mesolophid weak or replaced by pseudomesolophid; incisors with rounded anterolateral corners and enamel extending well onto lateral face; mental foramen high on side of mandible; masseteric fossa extending to beneath the rear of P4 or front of M1.
