Taxonomy
Dechellyia gormani was named by Ash (1972). It is not extant. Its type locality is Canyon de Chelly (AZ), which is in a Carnian/Norian terrestrial sandstone/mudstone in the Chinle Formation of Arizona. It is the type species of Dechellyia.
