Taxonomy
Steganotheca striata was named by Edwards (1970). It is not extant. Its type locality is Long Quarry Beds, Capel Horeb Quarry, which is in a Ludfordian/Pridoli coastal siltstone in the Downtonian Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Steganotheca.
