Taxonomy

Anomaluridae was named by Gill (1872) [also attributed to Gervais 1849]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Simplicidentata by Flower (1883) and Flower and Lydekker (1891); to Sciuromorpha by Gadow (1898); to Sciurognathi by Jaekel (1911); to Rodentia by Nowak (1991); to Anomaluromorpha by Nowak (1999); and to Anomaluroidea by Carroll (1988), Montgelard et al. (2002), Sallam et al. (2010), Sallam et al. (2010) and Heritage et al. (2016).
