Taxonomy
Cynodictis peignei was named by Le Verger et al. (2020). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.Qu9007 and 9008, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mouillac (old collection), which is in a MP 25 terrestrial phosphorite in France.
