Taxonomy
Aucella concentrica was named by White (1888).

It was recombined as Plagiostoma concentrica by Sowerby (1827); it was synonymized subjectively with Buchia piochii by Stewart (1930); it was recombined as Buchia concentrica by Imlay (1961) and Zell and Stinnesbeck (2015).
