Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
D. R. Prothero 2009Smaller peccaries (Ml-3 length = 30-47 mm) with well-developed sagittal crests, and relatively brachycephalic, gracile skulls with less robust occiput and zygomatic arches compared to Thinohyus; no diastemata between canines and first premolars; M3 relatively short anteroposteriorly compared to M3 of Thinohyus due to relatively small posterior cingulum and lack of a postero-intemal heel.
