Taxonomy
Thylacocercus ignota was named by Conway Morris et al. (2015). Its type specimen is UU 14011.01, an other, and it is a compression preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Drum Mountains 235 m above Wheeler contact, which is in a Cambrian marine mudstone in the Wheeler Formation of Utah. It is the type species of Thylacocercus.
