Kelly 1992Miolabis is distinguished from all other camelid genera by having the following suite of characters: size moderate; rostrum slightly to moderately elongated; upper incisors large; I1-2 conspicuously cupped on lingual surfaces; P1 present, single or double rooted; p1 absent; P 2-4 only moderately reduced relative to molars; molars relatively low-crowned; appendicular skeleton unspecialized; metapodials unfused.
