Stuoraxis wareni was named by Kaim (2004). Its type specimen is ZPAL Ga.9/204, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Faustianka, Czestochowa region, Opolskie, which is in a Bathonian transition zone/lower shoreface claystone in Poland.
