It was synonymized subjectively with Dyseomeryx by Stirton (1944).
It was assigned to Dromomerycidae by Frick (1937), Skinner et al. (1977), Whistler (1984) and Janis and Manning (1998); to Aletomerycini by Prothero and Liter (2007); and to Aletomerycinae by Prothero and Liter (2008).
