It was assigned to Giraffidae by Carroll (1988); to Climacoceridae by Pickford et al. (2001); to Palaeomerycidae by Prothero and Liter (2007); to Pecora by Cote (2010); and to Climacoceratidae by Mitchell and Skinner (2003) and Danowitz et al. (2016).
