V. Palmieri 1988Test free or attached, small to medium in size, oblong to rounded or hemispherical; chambers 10 to 12, subglobular to narrowly rounded, trochospirally arranged, often irregularly, in 2 to 3 whorls, greatly increasing in size and strongly overlapping; last chamber may expand disproportionately in attached forms; spiral side convex to roughly hemispherical, usually showing all or most of the chambers and spiral suture; umbilical side flattened or slightly concave, showing last chamber encroaching upon a few preceding ones; coiling may be dextral or sinistral; aperture a slit at base of last chamber in umbilical position, may be covered by a projection of the last septal face; test wall composed of an inner lining and an external, thicker microgranular layer; wall finely perforated, particularly in sutural positions.
