Taxonomy
Redunca was named by Smith (1827). It is extant. It is the type genus of Reduncini, Reduncinae.

It was assigned to Reduncinae by Arambourg (1979); to Bovidae by Carroll (1988); to Reduncinae by Grubb (2001) and Agnarsson and May-Collado (2008); and to Reduncini by Hassanin and Douzery (1999), Hassanin and Douzery (2003) and Gentry (2010).
