Goniacodon
Taxonomy
Goniacodon was named by Scott (1892) [questioned by Williamson 1996; first use as genus; named as subgenus of Mioclaenus by Cope 1888, sometimes falsely said to be Cope 1883]. Its type is Triisodon levisianus.
It was assigned to Cete by Archibald (1998); to Triisodontinae by Zhou et al. (1995) and St. Clair et al. (2010); and to Triisodontidae by Scott (1892), Hay (1902), Hay (1930), McKenna and Bell (1997), Tabuce et al. (2011) and Scott et al. (2013).
