Taxonomy
Proricaris machenrici was named by Baily (1870). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kiltorkan Quarry, which is in a Famennian fluvial siltstone in the Kiltorcan Formation of Ireland. It is the type species of Proricaris.
