Parvelorius calidris

Taxonomy
Parvelorius calidris was named by De Pietri and Mayr (2012). Its type specimen is NMB S.G. 16551, a limb element (left humerus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Saint-Gérand-le-Puy (Milne-Edwards coll), which is in an Aquitanian lacustrine - large sandstone in the Indusial Limestone Formation of France.

Mayr 2012Tiny scolopacid bird, about the size of the extant Long-toed Stint, Caldris subminuta (mea- surements from Ballmann 2004), with humerus displaying features mentioned for the genus. Apart from being smal- ler (Table 3), the new species differs from Parvelorius gracilis in (1) proportionally stouter humerus (Fig. 1Q–R) with second fossa pneumotricipitalis dorsoventrally slightly wider (Fig. 2R), (2) processus supracondylaris dorsalis proportionally more slender and more dorsally oriented (Fig. 2U).
